Autumn/Winter 2010-11 sees the release of capsule collection, Y DASH 3.

This package of T-shirts, peaked hat and shopper bag is a witty play on words. This amusing approach is simple, candid and contemporary.

The tees come in black or white whilst the accessories come in black only. All the pieces are produced from 100% cotton.

During the Autumn/Winter 2010-11 show, models wearing the tees sprinted down the runway which further emphasised the physicality of the collection. Y-3’s light hearted humour is running away from the gloom and doom of the world.

Autumn/Winter 2010-11 sees the third season of Y-3’s range for kids.

The collection consists of apparel, footwear and accessories which reflect the styles and cuts from the adult range in miniature versions. As such the children’s range perfectly complements the overall Y-3 collection with a sense of humour, lightness and fun!

The range proves that Y-3’s edge and signature aesthetic will prevail in its children’s collection. Electric blue and blackcurrant purple contrast with the clever use of plaids and stripes. The green and purple plaid shirts and stripey tops are both contemporary and functional. Outerwear ranges from cute leather bomber jackets to practical yet playful nylon puffas.

Footwear comes in Y-3’s most popular styles. The Honja- High, Sprint and Field have been created in kids and baby sizes to further complete the Y-3 look.

For the long winter months, children are now able to channel looks of sport functionality and fashion elegance from Y-3.

HAYWORTH HIGH – RE-ISSUE

Y-3 re-issues its iconic and classic Hayworth High shoe for Autumn/Winter 2010-11.

Originally produced in 2006 this interpretation of a classic work boot has made a welcome return not being produced for a number of years.

The Hayworths will come in two key colours; black with a purple accent and a sophisticated shade of brown. Both use high quality materials with hardwearing boot leather providing comfort as well as water resistance to conquer the winter season in style.

This contemporary unisex lace-up work boot perfectly epitomises the sporty edge and elegance of Y-3.

This Autumn/Winter 2010-11, Y-3 has produced a range of METALLIC NEO TECH footwear pieces.

Shiny metallic silver is the main colour used within this capsule footwear collection alongside accents of neon red and violet. These iconic leather sneakers and high heels feature detailed mesh overlays and debuted on the runway during the Y-3 fashion show in New York.

The collection marries the ideas Tradition & Futurism with an element of modernity that is strongly highlighted by this season’s footwear. Y-3 has always melded technology with tradition, and never has this been more apparent.

The men’s Light Runner, Moto High and Neo Tech styles have shifted away from the classic trainer. Each model provides superior comfort due to the adidas adiPRENE technology. An adiPRENE+ insert in the forefoot area stands for elastic cushioning, while the adiPRENE heel insert is shock absorbent.

The Torsion Heel and the Cushion Wedge bring a new aesthetic for the Y-3 woman. Both high heels combine sporty details with premium materials, making these styles very distinctive and uniquely Y-3. Both models make use of the adiPRENE technology for maximum comfort. In addition the Torsion Heel features a lightweight arch support, the ‘Torsion System’ developed by adidas. It allows the forefoot and rear foot to move independently and adds more stability and flexibility.

The Metallic Neo Tech range is yet another confident display of the collaborative efforts of adidas and Yohji Yamamoto.

Y-3 Autumn/Winter 2010-11 Men’s & Women’s Collection Press Day

Y-3 Autumn/Winter 2010-11 Men’s & Women’s Collection Press Day was held at NC.STYLE’s Showroom, Fangjia Hutong No, 46, Yonghegong Street, Beijing on May 18,19,20, 2010. More than 30 media attended this event and appreciated Y-3 AW2010-11 collection with strong artistic and color sense. They are deeply attracted by these great works jointly created by Yohji Yamamoto and ADIDAS?

Y-3 has always melded technology with tradition, and never has that been more apparent. For Autumn, the label known for sport elegance took inspiration from bespoke English tailoring, reinterpreting classic shapes in futuristic materials, or alternately, classic materials in futuristic shapes. The result was a kinetic and thoroughly modern take on sportswear.

In this season, Yohji Yamamoto injected Y-3 with as much humor as style, presenting an ode to masked superheroes like Zorro and the Scarlet Pimpernel. The collection also found inspiration in traditional military garb and deconstructed it in modern ways.

The voluminous, layered sportswear in vibrant colorways, the tighter, shorter and sexier clothes: Classic A-1 flight jackets unravelled into long sweeping capes, cashmere tracksuits combined utility with luxury, sweater jackets explored modularity with removeable shawls and scarves, and oversized jumpsuits emphasized the free-spirited mood. Wool sweaters and cardigans embroidered with kitten patches and slogans; the footwear with sporty mesh heels, metallic silver wedges (multicolored winklepickers for women and fluorescent neon basketball shoes for men.)…
